We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual to join our Austin store team in the role of afternoon part-time cashier. Responsibilities Operate the cash register efficiently during retail sales transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos Upsell products and promotions to enhance sales and improve customer satisfaction Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies and ensuring merchandise displays are neat and appealing Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising to support store presentation and product availability Follow proper phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries Support inventory management through stock replenishment and product rotation as needed Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, especially in grocery or convenience store environments Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for those interested in growth opportunities Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to serve diverse customer needs effectively Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store operations enhances performance in this role Experience in customer service roles that require phone etiquette, upselling, and product demos will be advantageous Making change and balancing out register at end of day is critical Must be able to adhere to the part time schedule provided based upon the needs of the store. Must be able to stand for periods of time and lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Must present a positive image of the company and follow safety policies High school degree or equivalent Customer Service: 1 year preferred Bi-Lingual – English / Spanish a plus Schedule: Part Time, maximum of 30 hours per week.
