Packing and Shipping Specialist

Job Summary We’re looking for someone to help keep our packing and shipping area running smoothly day to day. You’ll prep outgoing orders, match items against pick lists, and get boxes sealed and labeled so they go out on time. Some days are steady, others pick up fast, especially around peak order times. You’ll spend a good chunk of your shift on your feet, moving between the packing table and the shipping dock. It’s hands-on work. We’re a team that leans on each other when the queue gets long, and you’ll want to be comfortable asking questions when something doesn’t look right. Most training happens on the floor, alongside someone who’s done the job a while. Responsibilities Pulling items from shelves to match order tickets Pack orders securely using boxes, tape, and fill material Weighing and labeling packages for the correct carrier Scanning items in and out of the inventory system Staging completed shipments for pickup Keeping the packing area tidy between orders, wiping down surfaces as needed Reporting damaged or missing inventory to a supervisor Loading boxes onto hand trucks or carts for transport to the dock, which sometimes means repositioning heavier items more than once Qualifications You keep track of order details and catch mismatched labels before a package goes out the door. Comfortable using a computer or handheld scanner to log shipments throughout the shift. When the shift gets busy, you’re able to juggle several packing stations without losing track of what’s where. Speaking and understanding English well enough to read order tickets and follow verbal instructions is important here. Being on time matters, since late arrivals can slow down the whole shipping line. You get along with coworkers and pitch in when someone’s falling behind. Willing to learn new packing methods or shipping software as the team adopts them. Staying steady and organized even when order volume spikes unexpectedly.
