Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Owner Operator Truck Driver at AKKING TRUCKING LLC and take control of your driving career! In this vital role, you will operate your own tractor-trailer or 3500,4500 hot shot trucks and 26ft box trucks as well to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your dedication to safety and efficiency, will help keep our logistics operations running smoothly. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment for automobile transportation and hazardous materials. Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards during transportation and delivery processes. Manage delivery schedules for freight including dangerous goods and other sensitive cargo, ensuring adherence to route driving protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery status, or safety concerns. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a focus on freight transportation. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform truck loading/unloading tasks safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling procedures. Knowledge of DOT regulations Strong understanding of truck driving best practices within FMCSA guidelines for safe and legal operation.
