This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight across the country. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on over-the-road routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA regulations. Transport various types of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, freight requiring flatbed or tanker configurations, and automobile transportation. Utilize GPS navigation systems to follow optimal routes while adjusting for traffic or road conditions to ensure timely deliveries. Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight such as logistics cargo handling for different trailer types. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck safety, including checking load securement, brake systems, tires, lights, and other critical components. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, logs in compliance with DOT regulations and FMCSA standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road (OTR) routes; previous delivery driver experience is highly valued. Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and managing truck loading/unloading procedures. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations and handling hazardous materials according to Hazardous Materials Regulations. Ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to driver hours-of-service, load securement, and vehicle maintenance. Experience with freight management involving flatbed or tanker configurations is a plus. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and manual handling skills necessary for secure cargo transport.
