Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an OTR CDL A Hotshot Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across long distances. This role offers the opportunity to operate a hotshot truck and a 40 foot trailer , ensuring timely delivery of critical freight. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated over-the-road routes, including hotshot deliveries. Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (Hazmat), and dangerous goods while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while avoiding delays. Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securement for safe transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking truck, trailer and specialized equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in compliance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road (OTR) routes and freight delivery. Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures for various cargo types. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time traffic updates. Excellent understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Skilled in manual handling techniques for loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently. Experience with a hotshot truck and 40 foot trailer.
