Schedule: Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Guaranteed 40 hours) The Order Filler accurately and efficiently picks, packs, and prepares finished food products for shipment. Working in a fast-paced, small commercial food production environment, this role ensures that customer orders are accurately fulfilled while maintaining strict food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards. THE JOB: Key Responsibilities Order Picking & Fulfillment Read and interpret pick sheets, invoices, or digital order logs to determine items and quantities required. Retrieve finished products from staging areas and freezers according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices. Verify product labels and expiration dates to ensure order accuracy and freshness. Packaging & Shipping Preparation Pack food products securely into shipping boxes, crates, or pallets to prevent damage during transit. Apply shipping labels , packing slips, and required handling indicators (e.g., "Keep Refrigerated", "Fragile"). Use tape guns Food Safety & Quality Assurance Inspect product packaging for leaks, tears, or unsealed containers before packing. Maintain temperature control protocols for perishable goods during the picking and packing process. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) , FDA guidelines, and company allergen control policies. Inventory & Sanitation Report inventory shortages , damaged goods, or quality discrepancies to the supervisor immediately. Keep the fulfillment area clean, organized, and free of debris to prevent cross-contamination. Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and restocking activities. Qualifications and Skills Required Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Essential Skills Detail-oriented: High level of accuracy when reading SKU numbers, weights, and quantities. Physical stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout a shift. Basic math: Ability to count, add, and subtract quickly to verify order quantities. Communication: Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and safety protocols. 6+ months of experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, shipping, or food production environment is a plus. What We Are Looking For: High reliability and excellent punctuality (6:30 AM sharp start). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions/SOPs. Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. Prior experience in light manufacturing, warehouse fulfillment, order filling, assembly, or commercial kitchen prep is a plus, but not required!
