Order Desk Coordinator (B2B / Manufacturing)
North Star PalletsAt North Star Pallets, the Order Desk is the central communication hub of our facility. You are the critical link connecting our commercial customers, our production plant, and our supply chain. In this role, you will take incoming purchase orders from corporate and industrial clients, enter and convert them accurately in our ERP/accounting system, communicate production needs to plant supervisors, and coordinate delivery schedules with drivers and dispatch. This is an office-based position within an active industrial manufacturing environment. If you thrive in a straightforward, fast-paced setting where accuracy matters and no two days look identical, you will fit right in. Key Responsibilities Order Processing: Receive incoming customer orders via email and phone; input sales orders and convert them into invoices accurately using Sage 50. Production & Lumber Coordination: Relay confirmed build specifications to plant production stations so teams know daily output requirements; track incoming lumber and raw materials against open orders. Logistics & Dispatch Support: Schedule and coordinate outgoing customer deliveries with internal drivers and external freight carriers; handle shipping documentation and bill of ladings (BOLs). Front-Office Operations: Maintain organized digital and physical customer records; greet commercial truck drivers and issue standard visitor/plant PPE as needed. Team Communication: Work directly with management and production leads to flag supply shortages, rush orders, or schedule adjustments. (Escalated customer disputes are handled directly by management.) What We Are Looking For 2+ years of B2B/Commercial Customer Service or Order Desk experience (prior experience in manufacturing, building materials, freight, or an industrial setting strongly preferred). Proven hands-on proficiency with Sage 50 (or comparable mid-market ERP/accounting software beyond basic QuickBooks)—specifically converting sales orders to invoices and performing inventory adjustments. Comfortable in an industrial/blue-collar environment: You communicate clearly, directly, and professionally with everyone from corporate buyers to plant workers and freight drivers. High attention to detail: You catch discrepancies in order quantities, lumber dimensions, and delivery dates before they hit the plant floor. Reliable personal transportation: Our location is not reliably serviced by public transit. Schedule & Flexibility Standard Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Full-time, 40 hours/week). Flexibility: Open to discussing a steady part-time with benefits or shortened core schedule (e.g., 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM) for the right candidate. Day shift only; no weekend or evening shifts. Compensation & Benefits Wage: $26.00 – $28.00/hour (based on direct experience). Comprehensive health and dental benefits package following the standard probationary period. Paid standard time off and statutory holidays. Casual, practical office work attire. Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits: Extended health care Flexible schedule On-site parking Vision care Work Location: In person
