(ORD) Part-Time Lead Dispatcher
United Ground ExpressKey responsibilities Work with Passenger Assistance Agents (PAAs) to ensure all service requests are addressed and completed. Provide assignments and work orders through a computer system. Complete all required reports accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable FAA, TSA, airline, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures. Keep the supervisor informed of operational needs, issues, and concerns within assigned areas; maintain cleanliness of the immediate work area and report maintenance needs as appropriate. Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain required records, reports, and files. Maintain and distribute radios, where applicable, and complete all required documentation and reports. Receive and respond to telephone and radio communications from PAAs and employees in a professional and timely manner. Represent the Company professionally by responding to inquiries from airline personnel, employees, and the public in a courteous and helpful manner. Support training and onboarding of new hires through coaching and mentorship. Work safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications and minimum requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate a computer and/or tablet to enter, retrieve, and manage data. Use electronic radio devices to communicate with co-workers and management. Must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities daily, including bending, stooping, climbing, and walking long distances. Eligibility to obtain and maintain all necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal Service) in accordance with local requirements. Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Available to work any shift; day or night, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need. Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
