Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services and retail sales, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of care and expertise. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in helping customers select the right eyewear solutions while providing exceptional service and support. Responsibilities Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that best suit their needs and preferences. Conduct fittings for eyewear, ensuring proper alignment and comfort for each customer. Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical billing processes as required. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure seamless patient care. Manage inventory levels of optical products, including frames and lenses, to meet customer demand. Provide education to customers about lens options, coatings, and frame materials. Utilize retail math skills to process transactions accurately and manage sales effectively. Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology to provide informed recommendations. Skills Strong retail sales experience with a focus on customer service excellence. Familiarity with medical records management and medical billing processes is preferred. Knowledge of optical principles, including anatomy related to vision care, is essential. Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus. Background in retail management can enhance operational efficiency within the practice. Proficient in understanding ophthalmology concepts to better assist patients. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Ability to apply retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
