Operations Service Center (OSC) Specialist Mercury Medical Group, LLC Location: Maryland Heights, MO Job Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday Work Location: In Person Department: Operations Service Center (OSC) About the Position Mercury Medical Group is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Operations Service Center (OSC) Specialist to support our orthopedic surgical operations. The OSC Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that surgical instruments and implant sets are accurately prepared, scheduled, and delivered to support the needs of our customers and sales team. This position is responsible for inventory accuracy, order processing, logistics coordination, and product accountability throughout our territory. Success requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Surgical Case Coordination & Order Management Schedule, prepare, and coordinate surgical instrument and implant kits using MOVE inventory management software or other designated systems. Maintain and manage daily surgical case schedules to ensure timely preparation and delivery of required products. Complete all required order entries accurately and efficiently. Coordinate daily Mobile OSC and shipping schedules to support surgical case requirements while utilizing cost-effective logistics solutions. Provide on-call operational support as needed. Inventory Management & Accuracy Maintain accurate and complete Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all instrument and implant kits. Monitor and maintain appropriate stocking levels for warehouse inventory, shelf stock, and surgical kits. Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices and ensure expired products are identified and removed from available warehouse inventory. Conduct MOVE Kit Reviews to evaluate and optimize instrument and implant inventory levels based on sales and surgical demand. Assist with physical inventory counts, field cycle counts, and required warehouse inventory preparation. Support Regional Loaner Bank operations when required. Operational Reporting & Process Compliance Complete required OSC reporting and performance metrics, including inventory accuracy, utilization, and validation activities. Follow established OSC Operations Checklists and complete all assigned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks. Review freight and courier activity, including FedEx and other delivery services, to verify billing accuracy and identify cost-effective shipping opportunities. Maintain accurate product movement and inventory records to support surgical readiness and appropriate billing. Perform additional operational responsibilities as assigned by management. Teamwork & Communication Work closely with sales management, sales representatives, the Field Inventory Supervisor, logistics personnel, and manufacturing partners. Communicate effectively with hospital customers and external vendors to coordinate surgical case needs and product availability. Exercise sound judgment, initiative, and accountability while working independently within established operational procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience Two years of college coursework in operations, customer service, distribution, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience totaling four years will be accepted in lieu of college coursework. Bachelor's degree preferred. Technical & Professional Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, and general computer workstation operations. Ability to learn and effectively utilize inventory management and order processing software. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
