Operations Manager – Last Mile Delivery / Fleet Logistics Location: Middleborough, MA Position Type: Full-time (Salaried) Pay: $1,250.00 – $1,600 per week ($65,000 – $80,000/year) + Performance Bonus Options About the Role We are an established, rapidly growing contracted service provider for FedEx Ground operating across multiple terminals. Following massive expansion, we are seeking a results-driven, hands-on Lead Operations Manager to take full ownership of daily terminal operations, driver management, and fleet performance at our Middleborough, MA terminal location. This is an active, hands-on leadership position. In addition to daily terminal management, you will serve as a qualified FedEx driver , maintaining full readiness to operate any vehicle in our fleet, jump on routes when contingency demands arise, and lead your team directly from the field. Key Responsibilities Daily Terminal Operations: Oversee morning dispatch, route optimization, package load quality, and afternoon driver check-ins to ensure 100% route coverage and top-tier service metrics. Active RouteContingency Coverage: Maintain full qualification as a FedEx driver to step into routes, assist with heavy volume, or manage emergency route coverage as needed. TerminalStation Diplomacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for FedEx Station Management and Sort Managers, maintaining a professional, collaborative relationship. Team LeadershipRetention: Supervise, coach, and support a team of delivery drivers. Conduct route evaluations, monitor safety performance, and address operational bottlenecks. SafetyCompliance: Enforce FMCSA/DOT regulations, monitor VEDR (video safety) metrics, conduct pre/post-trip inspection checks (DVIR), and foster a safety-first culture. Fleet Readiness: Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and staging for a fleet of step vans and box trucks to minimize downtime. QualificationsRequirements DrivingFleet Requirements: Must qualify (or currently be qualified) as a FedEx Ground driver. Must be able to safely operate all vehicle types and sizes in our fleet, including walk-in step vans and non-CDL box trucks. Must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, DOT physical, and background check, as well as ongoing random drug screenings per DOT/FedEx guidelines. Experience: 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in P&D (Pick-upDelivery), parcel delivery, or fleet logistics (FedEx Ground BC/driver, Amazon DSP Manager, On-Trac, DHL, LTL, or military logistics preferred). Leadership: Proven track record of leading driver teams, improving retention, and maintaining high accountability. Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with routing and driver safety software (e.g., Ground Cloud, VEDR systems, handheld scanners, or fleet management apps). Mindset: Strong decision-making skills under pressure, adaptable, and willing to roll up your sleeves when operational challenges arise.
