Operations Coordinator - Precast
Geoquest CanadaOverview We are seeking an organized and proactive Operations Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of our precast concrete supply chain. This role is critical in ensuring seamless communication between engineering, project teams and various subcontracted precast suppliers, to maintain schedule commitments, quality standards, and project deliverables. The successful candidate will coordinate supplier scheduling, support production forecasting, project data administration and quality assurance. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and analytical skills, excels in a fast-paced environment, and is capable of proactively managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Duties · Coordinate production schedules with subcontracted precast suppliers to ensure alignment with project requirements and installation timelines · Monitor and track supplier manufacturing progress, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions as required · Coordinate formwork and component inventory · Support production forecasts and capacity planning for current and upcoming project demands · Prepare purchasing documentation, maintain accurate project records and production reports · Review supplier production documentation and quality records to ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards · Coordinate and track quality assurance activities, including inspections, non-conformance reporting, corrective actions, and resolution follow-up · Support procurement and supplier management activities by maintaining communication regarding production status and lead times · Analyze operational data and prepare monthly reports on production performance, forecasting, inventory levels, and supplier KPIs · Collaborate with engineering, project management, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution · Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance · Collaborate with Operations department team members to support activities related to warehousing, inventory management, deliveries and purchasing Requirements · Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent required · Minimum 2 years of experience in operations coordination, production planning, supply chain management, manufacturing or construction coordination · Experience working with precast concrete or construction materials is considered a strong asset · Strong understanding of production scheduling/forecasting, inventory tracking, and supplier coordination principles · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment · Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement corrective actions proactively · Experience coordinating quality assurance activities, inspections, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel · Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, engineers, project managers, and internal stakeholders · Ability to interpret production reports, drawings, specifications, and project schedules · Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a team environment · Knowledge of construction industry practices, precast manufacturing processes, and supply chain logistics is preferred · Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally to supplier facilities across Canada is required · French language working proficiency preferred During our hiring process, artificial intelligence (AI) may be used to help …
