Operations Assistant (Knife Assembly, Shipping and Procurement)
ConfidentialHours: Full-time, 40 hours per week About Olive Knives Olive Knives is a small, growing knife company. We design and build outdoor and everyday-carry knives, including the Arbor, Venari and Lenta. We're a lean team, so everyone here does real work that keeps product moving and customers happy. There's big room for you to grow here as the company grows. What you'll do day to day Assemble knives: fit handles and scales, fasten hardware, check fit and finish, and pack finished knives. Pick, pack and ship orders, print labels, and get packages out on time. Help with procurement by tracking parts and stock, reordering supplies, and following up with suppliers on deliveries. Receive incoming shipments and keep inventory counts accurate. Handle some customer care, such as answering order questions, sorting out returns and keeping customers in the loop. Use AI tools to speed up everyday work like writing emails, organising stock lists and looking things up. What you need You're good with your hands and comfortable with small tools and careful assembly work. You have a sharp eye for detail, because small flaws matter on a knife. You're somewhat technical and happy picking up new software, spreadsheets and online tools. You're willing to learn and use AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar in your daily work. You're reliable, organised and can work on your own once you've been shown the ropes. You communicate clearly in writing for supplier and customer emails. Nice to have Experience in shipping, warehouse work, light manufacturing, or with knives or tools. Some familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce systems.
