Experienced Material Handler – Forklift & Warehouse Operations

Position Overview American Paint Recyclers is a growing company seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Material Handler to join our warehouse and production operations team. We are looking for more than someone who can operate a forklift and move materials. Key Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other authorized material handling equipment. Load, unload, transport, organize, and stage raw materials, supplies, and finished products. Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized warehouse, production, and storage areas. Assist with receiving, inventory tracking, material transfers, and accurate documentation. Prepare and stage materials and finished products for upcoming production needs, customer orders, and shipments. Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or concerns. Coordinate with production, warehouse, office, and management personnel to ensure materials are available when needed. Plan and prioritize daily responsibilities while anticipating upcoming operational needs. Perform routine forklift and equipment inspections and promptly report on maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with basic equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting when qualified and authorized. Identify opportunities to improve warehouse organization, workflow, safety, and operational efficiency. Handle materials and equipment responsibly to minimize damage, waste, and unnecessary downtime. Follow established company procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements. Take initiative in identifying and completing necessary tasks without constant supervision. Assist with additional warehouse and operational responsibilities as business needs evolve. Required Experience & Qualifications Previous experience in material handling, forklift operation, warehouse operations, or a related manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to safely operate forklifts and follow industrial safety procedures. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and prepare ahead for upcoming orders and production needs. Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize and address operational concerns. Ability to identify inventory discrepancies, equipment issues, or safety concerns and communicate them promptly. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, warehouse, office, and management personnel. Comfortable using a computer for basic inventory tracking, documentation, and order-related tasks. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and business needs. A strong work ethic, personal accountability, and genuine pride in a job well done. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical aptitude or previous experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or preventive maintenance. Experience with warehouse inventory systems and material tracking. Experience with shipping, receiving, order staging, and warehouse organization.
