Ocean Export/Import Supervisor | New York, NY | Salary up to $80,000 The role is to oversee day-to-day ocean operations while providing leadership and support to the team. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support the day-to-day Ocean Export & Import operations team. Oversee shipments from booking through final delivery, ensuring accurate and timely execution. Manage ocean import/export documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and arrival notices. Coordinate with steamship lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents, customs brokers, trucking companies and customers. Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve operational issues, delays and exceptions. Ensure accurate data entry, documentation and system updates throughout the shipment lifecycle. Assist with rate requests, quotations and customer inquiries when required. Monitor team performance, workflow and service levels. Train, mentor and support team members while helping to improve operational processes. Ensure compliance with company procedures and U.S. import/export regulations. Maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas offices/agents. Requirements 3+ years of U.S. freight forwarding experience, with strong Ocean Import and Export knowledge. Previous supervisory or team lead experience within a freight forwarding environment. Strong understanding of ocean freight documentation and operational procedures. Experience working with steamship lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents and trucking providers. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software is preferred.
