Mover / Moving Helper (Full-Time)

ATX Firefighter Moving is a firefighter-owned residential moving company in Austin, and we're hiring 3–5 full-time movers/helpers and drivers. We run our crews the way a firehouse runs: show up on time, look out for each other, and take care of every customer's home like it's our own. Pay: Movers/helpers start at $18/hr. Drivers earn $22–$23/hr. Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week, with extra days available if you want more hours. Start: ASAP. What you'll do: - Load, move, and unload household furniture, boxes, and appliances on residential moves around Austin - Protect furniture and homes with pads, shrink wrap, floor runners, and door jamb protection - Take apart and put back together beds, tables, and other furniture - Use dollies, hand trucks, and straps the right way, and load the truck tight so nothing shifts - Help move heavy specialty items as a team, including upright pianos - Be friendly and professional with customers. You are the face of FFM in their home. What we're looking for: - Able to lift and carry heavy items over and over and work on your feet all day in Texas heat, on stairs, and in tight spaces - Reliable: shows up on time, every time, ready to work - Team player with a good attitude who can take direction - Moving experience is a plus but not required - No driver's license needed for helpers; drivers need a valid driver's license - Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screen for hard drugs.
