JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Motor Technician Department: Motor Department Reports To: Motor Department Supervisor Location: Las Vegas, NV Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary The Motor Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and inventory management of SGPS ShowRig’s fleet of rental chain hoists and motorized lifting equipment. This role ensures all equipment is safe, reliable, and show-ready, directly supporting operational efficiency and client satisfaction. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring equipment performs consistently in demanding live event environments. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on rental chain hoists to ensureoptimalperformance and longevity Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in chain hoists and related motorized equipment Ensuretimelyturnaround of equipment requiring service to minimize operational disruptions Conduct post-repair testing and quality checks to confirm safety and performance standards are met Inventory & Asset Management Maintainaccuraterecords of all chain hoists, including quantity, condition, and location Track maintenance schedules and service history for each unit Assistinidentifyingequipment that requires replacement, upgrade, or decommissioning Operations & Collaboration Partner with the Motor Department Supervisor to develop and improve maintenance workflows and processes Support cross-functional teams by ensuring equipment is properly prepared and available for projects Provide technical guidance and support to team members involved in equipment handling and maintenance Safety & Compliance Follow and enforce all safety protocols and procedures related to motorized lifting equipment Ensure all equipment meets company, industry, and regulatory safety standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Additional Responsibilities Support department-wide initiatives to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Previousexperiencemaintainingand repairing chain hoists or similar motorized/mechanical equipment Strong technical troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment lifecycle management Understanding of safety standards related to rigging and motorized lifting equipment Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and maintenance records Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Willingness to complete required training and certifications (OSHA, manufacturer certifications, etc.) Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbsregularly and up to 75lbsoccasionally withassistance Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment with varying temperatures Manual dexterityrequiredfor handling tools, small parts, and mechanical components Ability to safelyoperateshop equipment and tools Work Environment Warehouse and shop environment with exposure to mechanical equipment, noise, and industrial conditions Fast-paced setting supporting live events, touring, and production timelines May require occasional extended hours or weekend work based on operational needs
