Medical Transportation Driver — Wheelchair & Gurney/Stretcher

Job Summary SafePath Logistics is hiring dependable, compassionate drivers to provide non-emergency medical transportation. You’ll help passengers travel safely to medical appointments, healthcare facilities, and their homes, including passengers who use wheelchairs or require gurney/stretcher transportation. Paid training is provided , including instruction on equipment use, passenger assistance, securement, and company safety procedures. A current sheriff-issued transportation driver’s license or permit is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Safely transport passengers using wheelchair-accessible and gurney/stretcher vehicles. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting using approved equipment and procedures. Properly secure wheelchairs, gurneys/stretchers, and passenger restraints. Work with a second crew member for trips requiring two-person assistance. Treat every passenger with patience, dignity, and respect. Follow assigned schedules and communicate promptly with dispatch about delays, cancellations, and trip updates. Complete vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns. Keep vehicles and transportation equipment clean and ready for service. Maintain accurate trip records and protect passenger confidentiality. Follow company training and safety procedures when assisting or moving passengers. Qualifications & Skills Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company and insurance requirements. Current sheriff-issued transportation driver’s license or permit strongly preferred. Safe driving habits and a commitment to passenger safety. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow GPS directions and use a smartphone for trip assignments. Ability to perform essential passenger-assistance duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to complete paid training and required onboarding. Previous NEMT, wheelchair transportation, gurney/stretcher transportation, or patient-care experience preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus.
