Oshawa Clinic GroupJOB OVERVIEW: We are currently seeking a reliable, highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) on a temporary full-time basis to work with our CPAP Solutions Group for an anticipated period of up to six (6) months . This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized Medical Office Assistant looking to broaden their skills and experience in a fast-paced clinical environment while developing knowledge and experience with CPAP equipment, patient services, and inventory management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting timely patient assessment and education by coordinating patient flow, scheduling patient appointments, accurately handling sensitive personal health information, educating patients on product and accessory features, while also collaborating closely with clinical staff. All duties are performed in accordance with PHIPA, clinic policies, and established clinical protocols to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care. Key Responsibilities: · Serve as the first point of contact for patients, offering clear instructions and compassionate support throughout their visit, ensuring smooth flow of information for effective patient care. · Accurately collect, verify, and update patient demographics, health records, etc. · Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of product features, costs, etc. · Patient scheduling/re-scheduling and confirmations via phone and in person for office appointments, clinics, and procedures. · Managing inventory of CPAP products (CPAP machines, masks, and supplies). · Processing payments for products using the POS system and ensuring daily and monthly balances are accurate. · Perform a variety of administrative duties such as billing assistance, faxing, scanning, filing, and organizing reports and documentation. · Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of care. Qualifications: · Completion of a recognized Medical Office Administration Diploma (or equivalent) · Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other computer systems. · Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation. · Excellent knowledge and adherence to PHIPA and all legislation related to patient and medical records privacy and compliance. · Experience processing payments through POS and daily/monthly auditing/balancing skills. · Experience with managing inventory and providing product information/education is considered an asset. · Excellent organizational and time-management skills. · Ability to work independently and enthusiasm for being part of a functional team. · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. · Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy. · Demonstrate a pattern of reliability, dependability, integrity, and professionalism. · Must be flexible with changing priorities and willing to adjust work schedule to meet the operational needs of office/clinic. · Must be dependable, reliable, and consistently attend work. Additional Information: · Previous experience working in a CPAP or Sleep Clinic is considered an asset. · All employees are required to work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations. · All employees are required to work in compliance with PHIPA legislation, understanding and having a deep respect for patient privacy and data protection. · Position start date is expected to be October 2026; for an anticipated period of up to six (6) months. · Primary Work Location will be based at the Courtice Health Centre with flexibility to work at the Whitby Health Centre periodically as needed. · MOA hours will be based on a schedule of 30-40 hours/week. · Current scheduled shifts will be Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m…
