About the Opportunity This 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity includes scheduled routes, on-demand deliveries, and backup coverage. Route locations vary throughout Metro Detroit and surrounding communities based on client needs. Drivers should be prepared to complete 100+ route miles per assignment , which may involve several hours of driving across multiple communities. We are seeking experienced couriers who understand that compensation does not include personal commute mileage to the pickup location or from the final delivery location back home. Rates vary by client and assignment and may be fixed or mileage-based. Rates are provided prior to acceptance. Route completion times vary based on driver skill and efficiency. Responsibilities Pick up and deliver medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, supplies, and other healthcare-related items. Complete time-sensitive pickups and deliveries according to assigned routes and client requirements. Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism, and chain-of-custody procedures. Use GPS/navigation and delivery applications for routing, communication, photos, and proof of delivery. Maintain timely and professional communication throughout assigned routes. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Reliable, clean, fuel-efficient personal vehicle with current registration and insurance. Evening and weekend availability. Strong time-management, organization, and communication skills with a professional, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong smartphone proficiency , including installing, uninstalling, and resetting mobile apps; managing app settings and permissions; using GPS/navigation and messaging; taking and uploading photos; and independently operating delivery applications. Previous medical courier, pharmacy delivery, specimen transport, or last-mile courier experience strongly preferred. Must successfully complete required background screening and drug testing. Physical Requirements Ability to frequently enter and exit a vehicle. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate a personal vehicle in varying weather conditions. Ready to Apply?
