Material Handler Forklift Operator

Summary Hard Rock Stone Works is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our operations team. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient movement, staging, and storage of granite, quartz, and other stone materials within our facility. The Material Handler supports fabrication, inventory, and installation teams by ensuring materials are correctly identified, handled, and delivered where needed. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with warehouse or construction-related material handling experience. Responsibilities Load, unload, move, and stage stone slabs using forklifts, overhead cranes, and A-frames Accurately identify and label materials in accordance with job orders and inventory procedures Assist in pulling materials for fabrication, templating, and installation teams Inspect slabs for damage or defects before staging or processing Maintain clean, safe, and organized slab storage and loading zones Record material movement accurately within inventory systems Support inventory cycle counts and physical audits Communicate effectively with fabrication, install, and warehouse personnel to ensure timely material flow Follow all company safety policies and consistently use required PPE (steel toe boots, gloves, eye protection, etc.) Immediately report safety hazards, equipment damage, or material shortages to supervisor Qualifications Required: Ability to safely maneuver and lift heavy slabs (75+ lbs) with equipment support Attention to detail and strong ability to follow directions Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Comfortable working in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor) and near fabrication equipment Strong teamwork and communication skills High school diploma or equivalent Commitment to following safety and operational protocols Preferred: 1+ years of experience in stone, construction, or industrial material handling Experience using forklifts, overhead cranes, slab clamps, or other material handling equipment Familiarity with granite, quartz, or solid surface products Experience using warehouse or inventory tracking software Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays On-the-job training and advancement opportunities within operations and fabrication Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
