Material Handler

Job Title: Material Handler Location: Smyrna, TN Position Type: Temporary, with potential for permanent hire Conversion: Eligible for permanent hire after 400 hours Available Shifts: 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM 3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM Job Summary We are seeking dependable Material Handlers to support manufacturing operations by moving, loading, unloading, staging, and organizing raw materials and finished products throughout the facility. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing physical work in a manufacturing environment and following established safety procedures. Responsibilities Review work orders and follow verbal or written instructions. Move pallets and containers from production machines to designated areas. Load and unload materials onto and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Move materials from storage or work areas to designated locations. Ensure machine operators have the raw materials required for production. Stack and assemble materials into bundles. Band and secure material bundles. Remove empty pallets from equipment and work areas. Perform Shipper/Receiver duties as assigned. Maintain clean, organized, and safe material storage areas. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements More than 6 months of tenure in each previous role is required. Previous material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving experience preferred. Ability to follow work orders and verbal instructions. Ability to safely move and organize materials. Ability to lift and maneuver materials weighing 50+ pounds or awkward loads. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, climb, and perform continuous physical work. English speaking and comprehension required for safety purposes. High School Diploma/GED strongly preferred. Specialized training or certification may be required. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, loud noises, fumes, and temperature variations. Physically demanding position requiring frequent movement and handling of materials weighing 50+ pounds. No travel required. Pay: $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
