Material Handler / Delivery Driver
ConfidentialOverview We are a chemical manufacturing company seeking a reliable, hardworking Material Handler / Delivery Driver for a stable 3-day-a-week schedule . This role splits time between handling core warehouse tasks, driving local delivery routes across the greater Los Angeles area, and performing hands-on technical service tasks. Because this position involves both chemical handling and servicing heavy commercial cleaning equipment, it is highly demanding and requires excellent physical conditioning and stamina . Duties Safely load, unload, and organize materials using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and carts. Operate box trucks / vans, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Plan and follow optimized delivery routes using mobile devices or GPS systems to ensure punctuality and efficiency. Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, employing safe lifting practices for heavy or awkward items. Deliver products directly to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service by addressing questions professionally and courteously. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements through digital or manual logs. Perform routine vehicle inspections before each shift to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance issues promptly. Schedule & Hours Work Week: 3 days per week (Specific days to be finalized upon hire). Shift Times: shifts start from 3:00 am to 7:00 am. Candidates must be available to start shifts as early as 3:00 AM . Core ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations & Material Handling Operate a sit-down forklift to safely load, unload, stack, and move heavy pallets, chemical drums, and finished goods. Perform a variety of manual labor tasks to maintain facility safety and compliance. Assist in production by blending, bottling and packaging cleaning products and industrial chemical mixtures. Perform facility upkeep, including washing industrial drums and mopping warehouse floors. Equipment Servicing & Maintenance Perform hands-on service and maintenance tasks on industrial cleaning machines. Clean / service machines to ensure proper working order. Handle, tilt, and maneuver heavy equipment parts during the servicing process. Logistics & Deliveries Carefully load delivery trucks using material handling equipment to match route logistics. Drive delivery trucks safely using a standard Class C license to local clients and distributors across Los Angeles. Safely unload delivery trucks at customer locations, ensuring accurate order verification and high-quality customer service. Qualifications & Requirements Driver's License: Valid, standard Class C Driver’s License with a clean DMV driving record. Forklift Experience: Experience operating a sit-down forklift. Physical Stamina: Excellent physical fitness. Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including bending, crouching, walking, and manually lifting up to 50–70 lbs regularly to service heavy machinery (forklifts and dollies are provided for bulk warehouse moves). Schedule Reliability: Ability to consistently arrive on time for early morning 3:00 AM shifts . Language Skills: Multilingualism is a big plus. Ability to speak any language in addition to English is highly valued to help us communicate effectively with our diverse customer base. Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, mechanical repair, or delivery driving role is preferred. Experience in chemical handling or industrial equipment repair is a plus. Plumbing experience is a strong plus given the nature of the equipment maintenance.
