International Wire GroupMaterial Handler / Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing operations on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for safely transporting materials, supplying production lines, handling wire reels, and maintaining accurate inventory and production records. The ideal candidate has experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Material Handling & Production Support Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport raw materials, finished products, and production supplies. Supply production lines with feedstock, wire reels, and other materials to maintain efficient operations. Load, unload, stage, and organize materials in designated production and storage areas. Assist production operators with material movement and machine preparation. Properly identify, tag, and track wire reels throughout the production process. Inventory Management & Documentation Accurately scan materials into and out of the Kanban inventory management system. Maintain accurate material movement and production records using company computer systems. Follow established procedures for material identification, labeling, and inventory control. Read and interpret production instructions, including Method Master documentation. Quality & Safety Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and quality standards. Perform required quality control measurements and inspections. Use measuring instruments, including micrometers, when required. Identify and report material defects, equipment issues, and production concerns. Assist with basic troubleshooting and communicate equipment issues to appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks. Basic computer skills and ability to enter production and inventory information accurately. Ability to read and follow written work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment. Availability to consistently work the assigned 2nd shift schedule. Preferred Qualifications Previous forklift operation or material handling experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment. Experience handling raw materials, wire reels, or industrial production materials. Familiarity with Kanban or computerized inventory tracking systems. Experience using micrometers or other precision measuring instruments. Previous experience supporting manufacturing production lines. WORK ENVIRONMENT Manufacturing and industrial production environment. Regular exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, and material handling operations. Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and handling materials throughout the shift. Must consistently follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
