Description: Summary / Objective: Under the direction from the Material Handling Supervisor, the Material Handler employee is responsible for performing essential duties related to an assigned area of responsibility. This could include, but not be limited to material selection, transportation of materials, inventory accountability, assembly, and packaging. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Safely operate various materials handling equipment including, but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, and push carts. Transport inventory items to/from staging areas and inventory stocking locations. Breakdown and re-package incoming materials and re-stocks (when appropriate). Evaluate order pick sheets, locate inventory, and pull items from stocking locations. Ensure products are accurately and properly labeled. Electronically transfer inventory items to/from inventory locations and production staging areas. Properly utilize inventory management tools including computers and hand-held devices. Coordinate with Receiving on the receipt and staging of container receipts. Perform periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy of items, locations, and quantities. Identify inventory management challenges and facilitate resolutions with designated Lead. Perform periodic equipment inspections and report results. Provide support for facility cleanliness efforts. Provide support in other areas on an as-needed basis. Overtime may be required on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned by the Lead/Supervisor. Ability to work safely and effectively in an assembly group environment. Ability to safely lift & carry up to 40 pounds. Reliable transportation to/from work.
