Material Handler
Calico Precision Molding, LLC1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am-2:10pm. Paid Weekly Job Overview The Material Handler prepares, mixes, stores, and delivers raw materials and work-in-process materials to support production. This position maintains accurate inventory records, operates material-handling equipment, and follows Calico’s safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S practices. Prepare, mix, and issue materials to production according to requirements. Review MRP information to determine material needs and quantities. Operate mixing and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor dryers and loaders, including heat settings and filter cleaning. Identify, label, weigh, and document raw materials, regrind, and returned materials. Enter material usage, transfers, and inventory information into the ERP system. Supply production with raw materials, WIP components, packaging, and other needed materials. Print material tickets and maintain accurate material documentation. Perform inventory transfers and cycle counts as requested. Inspect finished parts for proper labeling and damage. Communicate with production personnel regarding material needs, quality, and efficiency. Handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety requirements and applicable SDS information. Break down empty boxes/Gaylords and remove empty waste barrels. Assist with production needs and provide break relief as directed. Follow all Calico safety, quality, manufacturing, and company procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math and calculator skills. Ability to use standard Windows-based software and an ERP system. Ability to understand and follow manufacturing processes. Good communication, teamwork, and cooperation skills. Ability to use scales and material-handling equipment. Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification. Completion of required Material Handler training. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and other physical activity. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Moderate exposure to dust and grease. Safety glasses are required. Back brace must be worn when lifting, as required by company procedures. QUALITY & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES The Material Handler is responsible for following safety and quality procedures and understanding how material handling affects product quality and customer requirements.
