3pm-1am Monday-Friday (weekends as needed) Job Summary RidgeCorps Group is seeking a dedicated and result-driven 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead to oversee our evening warehouse operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary operational leader during the second shift, driving safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and team performance. You will directly lead warehouse associates, direct daily workflow, support employee training, and ensure customer orders—including key account and transfer orders—are processed accurately and delivered on time. Key Responsibilities Shift Leadership & Operations: Lead 2nd shift team members, assign work priorities, and adjust labor allocations to optimize daily workflow and meet productivity targets. Order Fulfillment & Material Handling: Oversee picking, verification, wrapping, weighing, and staging for key customer ("Big 3") and transfer orders. Safely move completed pallets to designated loading areas using material handling equipment. Training & Coaching: Onboard and train new staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality requirements. Provide ongoing feedback, performance coaching, and developmental support. Performance & Accountability: Track individual and shift productivity metrics, maintain workplace standards, address performance gaps through coaching/corrective action, and communicate shift results to management. Quality & Inventory Control: Ensure picking accuracy, audit pallets to eliminate short/over-picks, ensure over-picked stock is returned to inventory, and resolve quality issues before shipments depart. Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety policies and safe forklift operation. Conduct safety observations, investigate incidents, manage accident documentation, and administer post-accident testing as required. Housekeeping & Facility Upkeep: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work floor, verifying that associates properly dispose of shrink wrap, cardboard, and debris. Shift Handoff & Communication: Provide comprehensive shift updates to 1st shift leadership and management regarding order status, short picks, inventory discrepancies, and operational needs. Peak & Prepack Support: Assist leadership during peak seasons and prepack operations by coordinating workforce allocation, supporting overtime scheduling, and monitoring throughput while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time and accurate completion of key customer and transfer orders. High inventory accuracy with minimal picking errors. Achievement of daily production metrics and safety compliance targets. Seamless shift handoffs and effective cross-shift communication. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse lead, team lead, or supervisory role within distribution or logistics. Equipment Handling: Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to coach team members, direct workflow, and hold staff accountable to production and safety standards. Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong verbal/written communication skills for clear shift handoffs and effective escalation of operational challenges. Flexibility: Ability to support peak season operations, prepack setups, and overtime demands as needed.
