NOW HIRING: MARINE DIESEL MECHANIC Yacht & Boat Service | Fort Lauderdale, FL Yacht Management is one of South Florida’s leading yacht care, service, and boatyard operations. We work on everything from recreational vessels to large luxury yachts, providing high-level mechanical service, maintenance, and repair. We are looking for an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic to join our growing service team. POSITION OVERVIEW The Marine Diesel Mechanic will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on marine diesel engines and generators aboard customer-owned yachts and boats. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, mechanically skilled, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine diesel engines and generators. Inspect, disassemble, repair, and recondition engine components as needed. Perform preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs. Accurately diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate diagnostic equipment. Communicate professionally with customers, service managers, and team members. Follow manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Assist with parts identification, ordering, and job planning. Maintain accurate service reports, job documentation, and hours worked. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and protect company and customer property. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum 4 years of experience working on yachts or boats is required. Minimum 4 years of experience working with marine diesel engines and generators. Must be available for an in-person interview. Experience with major marine diesel manufacturers, including: Detroit Diesel MTU Volvo Caterpillar Cummins Yanmar Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience using marine diagnostic equipment and repair tooling. Experience with rigging, blocking, and general vessel service procedures. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Must provide and maintain your own professional tools. Proficiency with web-based service and parts-ordering systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word. Valid state driver's license required. Diesel technology degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
