Manufacturing Estimator

About Us Sharp Machining & Tooling is a precision machine shop specializing in custom machined components and assemblies. We pride ourselves on accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Estimator to join our growing team. Position Overview The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely quotes for machined parts and assemblies. This role requires strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and finishes at a high level of professionality. Over time, the position may expand to include purchasing responsibilities such as sourcing materials, coordinating with vendors, and managing purchase orders. Key Responsibilities Review customer prints, CAD models, and specifications to develop accurate quotes Analyze machining processes, labor hours, and finishing requirements Research and source material costs from approved vendors Prepare and present quotes in a clear, professional format Communicate with customers regarding quote details, lead times, and revisions Assist in negotiating vendor pricing and terms Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and management to ensure accurate cost estimates Maintain organized records of quotes and vendor communications Qualifications Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and finishing processes Experience with quoting, estimating, or cost analysis in manufacturing a plus Basic knowledge of purchasing/supply chain Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred Traits Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Willingness to grow into broader purchasing and procurement responsibilities Strong vendor and customer relationship skills Benefits Weekly pay periods PTO and Paid holidays for full time employees Opportunity for growth within the company Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
