The Opportunity As a Manufacturing Engineer at AGI Swift Current, you will gain exposure to a broad spectrum of engineering work, including product design and development, manufacturing process improvements, lean initiatives, research and development, and troubleshooting production challenges. Working in our fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will see projects move quickly from concept to implementation, with many initiatives completed within 2-6 weeks. The role provides hands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines and business functions, offering valuable exposure to product design, production, supply chain, continuous improvement, and customer-focused projects. As a highly cross-functional role, you will work closely with the Purchasing, Production, and Sales teams, developing both your technical expertise and professional skills while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Whether you are beginning your engineering career or bringing previous manufacturing experience, this position offers a unique opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow within a leading agriculture-focused manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Understand and follow OH&S policies and procedures and foster a culture of safety and respect. Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by supervisor. Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist First hand agricultural experience and familiarity with a farm environment is strongly preferred Equivalent experience in agricultural manufacturing or related environments will also be considered Recent engineering and engineering technologist graduates with an understanding of the ag industry and farming are encouraged to apply AGI is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
