This role is central to optimizing our workflows across metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly, requiring close collaboration with our quality, welding, and supply chain departments to drive efficiency and safety. Core Responsibilities Create and refine production methods, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Ensure daily operations run smoothly across our assembly and powder coating departments. Evaluate technical specifications and GD&T requirements to guarantee product manufacturability. Develop and implement custom fixtures to enhance assembly ergonomics and boost overall productivity. Provide essential technical guidance to shop-floor teams to resolve ongoing production hurdles. Collaborate cross-functionally with welding and supply chain teams to streamline process challenges. Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, including routings, Bills of Materials, and part masters. Assist in the development of accurate manufacturing cost estimates and product pricing. Leverage MRP/MRPII systems to optimize material flow and production scheduling. Execute FMEA protocols to proactively identify and mitigate manufacturing risks. Lead root cause analysis efforts to improve quality outcomes and resolve production defects. Drive initiatives that improve safety standards and manufacturing efficiency for the entire facility. Facilitate the seamless integration of new manufacturing processes and product lines. Champion continuous improvement projects throughout the production cycle. Manage engineering projects independently to ensure successful delivery. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience in a hands-on engineering or manufacturing capacity. Proven background working within a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing setting. Deep proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T standards. Practical experience utilizing MRP or MRPII software systems. Working knowledge of manufacturing risk analysis and FMEA methodologies. Proficiency in CAD design software. Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles. Strong mechanical aptitude and a systematic approach to problem-solving. Competency in Microsoft Office suite. Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between engineering and production staff. Ability to manage projects and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision. Preferred Experience We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas: Sheet metal fabrication techniques. Industrial paint or powder coating processes. Product assembly workflows. Manual or robotic welding operations. Design of specialized tooling and fixtures. Utilization of MRP/MRPII systems. Management of Bills of Materials and part masters. Development of shop floor routings. Product costing and financial analysis. FMEA and root cause investigation. CAD software applications. Continuous improvement methodologies.
