Manager - Convenience and Hardware Store

Duties Lead and supervise the retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service. Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing, and inventory control to maximize profitability. Manage store operations efficiently by implementing policies for cash handling, POS system usage, and operational procedures. Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff to build a motivated and skilled team aligned with company standards. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, store policies, and health standards while fostering a positive work environment. Skills Strong management skills with proven experience in supervising retail teams within the convenience or hardware industry. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and basic math skills. Demonstrated ability in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and operational management. Experience in employee orientation, training & development, interviewing candidates, and leadership roles such as assistant manager or shift supervisor. Knowledge of retail sales techniques including wireless sales, grocery store operations (if applicable), pricing strategies, and marketing fundamentals. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple responsibilities such as stock control, cashiering, customer service, and administrative tasks.
