Mail Handler Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mail Handler to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently processing, sorting, and distributing mail and packages within our warehouse and distribution center. Responsibilities Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and shipments using manual handling techniques and automatic inserting machines. Operate warehouse materials handling equipment such as forklifts to load, unload, and transport heavy items safely. Manage shipment sorting, shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data entry using Microsoft Office tools. Conduct mail distribution activities across various departments or designated areas within the facility. Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of packages, adhering to safety protocols to prevent injury. Maintain organized filing systems for shipping records, delivery logs, and other documentation related to warehouse operations. Support outdoor work activities when required, including outdoor sorting or delivery tasks in varying weather conditions. Skills Proficiency in operating forklift and other material handling equipment safely. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping. Experience with warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, and materials handling procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication purposes. Good understanding of warehouse operations, including shipment sorting and mail processing workflows. Excellent customer service skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams or external carriers. Outdoor work experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability in various environments.
