JOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 10/08/2026 CLOSING DATE: 10/23/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 055318 LOCATION: Communications & Printing - 906 POSITION TITLE: Mail Carrier/Driver/Print Shop JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide accurate, timely delivery and pick-up of district mail and packages; maintain consistent route schedule and maintain a clean, serviced delivery vehicle. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver and pick-up of District mail and boxes of printed materials. Maintain a consistent, predetermined schedule of pick-up and delivery. Process U.S. mail and UPS packages. Sort U.S. and inter-campus mail. Fill and load intercampus mail bags and boxes into van for next-day delivery. Assist in other mail-related duties when needed. Assist with occasional packaging when necessary. Maintain the delivery vehicle by cleaning the outside/inside and check gas, oil, and other fluids. Keep vehicle maintenance log to include mileage, oil changes, etc. Perform any additional tasks which are necessary to complete a job or that may be assigned to the department. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain regular attendance. EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 21 years of age Acceptable motor vehicle record QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Valid Texas driver’s license CONTACT INFORMATION: EQUIPMENT USED: Light truck or van and hand truck Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: The following physical requirements and/or capabilities are what an employee needs to possess in order to meet the physical demands of the job: Walking - move about on foot Carrying - transporting an object by hand Crouching - bending the body downward and forward by bending the knees and spine Climbing - ascending and descending stairs Lifting - able to lift 50 - 60 pound boxes/objects Kneeling - bending legs at the knees to come to rest on the knees Pulling - exerting force upon an object so the object moves toward the force (includes jerking) Pushing - exerting force upon an object so the object moves away from the force Reaching - ability to extend hands and arms in any direction Bending - ability to move at the waist downward and upward with reasonable mobility An employee may be required to perform any or all of the above listed physical requirements. These physical requirements may constitute 95% of the employee’s daily functions.
