In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for efficiently transporting mail, parcels, and packages to residential and commercial addresses. Duties Safely operate various delivery vehicles including vans, box trucks, and other commercial trucks, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, unload, and organize packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or route management systems to optimize time and fuel consumption. Deliver mail, parcels, and packages directly to customers’ doors or designated drop-off points with professionalism and courtesy. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with company policies. Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation for each route completed. Assist with warehouse operations when needed, including inventory management and moving shipments using manual handling practices. Qualifications Previous warehouse experience or delivery driver experience is highly desirable. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans, box trucks, or commercial trucks preferred. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items; experience with manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous. Familiarity with route driving, traffic regulations, DOT regulations, and weight handling in the workplace. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude when interacting with clients. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively across multiple stops. Comfortable using mobile devices for navigation and communication during routes.
