Machinist Assistant Position Summary Currently we are looking for a Machinist Assistant/Kitter to join our team. The Kitter will be responsible for assembling tool boxes for the manufacturing floor according to kitting procedures. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential to this role. Understanding the production schedule and promoting continues workflow is a must. Communication with tool crib personnel, management, and machinist on the manufacturing floor is key to the success of this position and the company. Shifts Available : Monday - Friday 6:00am to 3:30pm Responsibilities: Machinist Assistant Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities (Applies to All Areas) Perform visual and/or dimensional inspection on tooling and/or parts using microscopes, gauges, calipers, or other measurement tools, as required. Complete required documentation such as production records, quality checks, and history records. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement process enhancements. Handle and work with cleaning chemicals such as isopropyl alcohol, detergents, or solvents when needed. Maintain an organized, clean work area following 5S expectations. Participate in required training and company meetings. Read, understand, and follow work instructions, standard work, and applicable quality/ISO/cGMP requirements. Support and comply with the Quality System, ISO, and medical device regulatory requirements. Communicate issues with materials, equipment, or processes promptly. Perform other duties as assigned. Machinist Assistant Responsibilities Assist machinists with operating and maintaining machine tools Load and unload materials, parts, and finished products Perform basic machine operations under supervision Deburr, clean, and inspect parts for quality Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning Kitter Responsibilities Assemble tooling boxes per the setup sheet for jobs running on the manufacturing floor Manage the Kitting process: part programs, setup sheets, records, and inventory Responsible for resolving shortage issues and discrepancies Maintain daily logs necessary to the kitting procedure Communicate with the tool crib, leadership, and production regarding needs and availability of tools and materials Qualifications: Minimum Requirements/Qualifications Ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions in English. Perform basic math, hand–eye coordination, and dexterity. Ability to use basic hand tools and measurement equipment. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and handle multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Desirable Requirements/Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 6+ months of manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or cleanroom experience. Familiarity with FDA, ISO, cGMP, Lean manufacturing, or workplace safety practices.
