Machine Shop Assistant & Delivery Driver

Overview This is a hands-on position combining general machine shop assistance, casting repair support, assembly work, material handling, and occasional pickups and deliveries using a company Ford F-150 pickup truck. Duties Assist with day-to-day machine shop operations and production activities. Handle, lift, position, and turn heavy metal castings on workbenches. Operate hand tools and heavy-duty tools to assist with machining and repair work. Assist with preparing, cleaning, inspecting, and handling metal components. Perform drilling, tapping, and other basic shop tasks as required. Help assemble large cast iron cylinder heads and related components. Use designated lifting equipment, including hoists, to move parts into and out of cleaning/hot tanks, where required. Perform occasional pickups and deliveries of castings, parts, and other materials using a company Ford F-150 Load and unload materials and assist with deliveries to customers and suppliers. Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality for deliveries and shift start times Qualifications Valid Ontario G2 driver's licence Physically capable of performing repetitive lifting, carrying, and handling of heavy components, with appropriate lifting equipment and assistance. Mechanically inclined, with an interest in tools, machinery, and hands-on work. Comfortable using hand tools and heavy-duty shop equipment, or willing to learn Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Able to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn specialized machining, assembly, and casting repair processes We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is willing to get hands-on, and understands the importance of accuracy, teamwork, and safety in a busy industrial environment. Previous machine shop or manufacturing experience is an asset but is not necessarily required for a candidate with the right attitude and mechanical aptitude.
