Machine Operator / Forklift Operator

Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring efficient materials handling, order fulfillment, and safe operation of heavy equipment within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks, along with a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and OSHA safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where safety, mechanical knowledge, and attention to detail are paramount. Duties Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory processing Load and unload shipments in accordance with shipping & receiving protocols Assist with materials handling tasks such as stacking, organizing, and storage of goods within the warehouse Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues Follow OSHA safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment Support warehouse operations by participating in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals in a timely manner Experience Previous experience in warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving is highly preferred Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is required Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is advantageous Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance is a plus Experience with order picker operations or construction-related equipment is beneficial Prior supervisory experience in warehouse settings or with materials handling teams is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods during shift hours This role requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining safety standards while ensuring smooth warehouse operations through proficient equipment operation and materials handling expertise.
