Lumber Yard Foreman
ConfidentialJob Summary We are seeking a proactive and experienced Lumber Yard Foreman to lead and oversee daily yard operations at our store located in Siloam Springs, AR. This vital role involves managing our lumber yard, materials handling, coordinating logistics, supervising team members, and ensuring efficient warehouse distribution processes. The Yard Foreman will play a key part in maintaining safety standards, optimizing workflow, and fostering a collaborative team environment to meet operational goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to drive process improvements and elevate the yard and warehouse performance. Responsibilities Supervise daily yard activities, including layout, order staging, shipping, receiving, and material handling operations. Coordinate with inventory management systems to ensure accurate stock levels and order fulfillment. Operate and oversee the safe use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, trucks, and trailers. Implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce waste. Maintain inventory control by conducting regular cycle counts. Ensure adherence to safety protocols across all yard activities. Requirements : Strong experience in lumber yard management and logistics. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems preferred. Hands-on experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and heavy lifting machinery. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, 3PL (third-party logistics), and materials handling best practices. Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work environment. Mechanical knowledge related to lumber yard/warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Experience implementing safety protocols in a lumber yard/warehouse setting.
