Job Summary: The Automotive Wholesale Parts Counterperson serves as the primary point of contact for customers, both internal and external, seeking automotive parts and accessories. This role involves accurately identifying, sourcing, selling, and delivering parts for wholesale clients, including repair shops, dealerships, and fleet operations. The Parts Counterperson must provide excellent customer service, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure the smooth operation of the parts department. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet customers and provide exceptional service, ensuring their automotive parts needs are met. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and order status. Offer professional advice and recommendations to customers regarding parts and accessories. Parts Identification and Ordering: Accurately identify parts using various resources, such as online catalogs, manufacturers’ databases, and parts books. Process parts orders, including sourcing parts from the inventory or placing special orders. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts. Inventory Management: Maintain proper stock levels and ensure that inventory is organized and accessible. Perform regular stock checks and assist in managing the ordering process to avoid stockouts or overstocking. Assist in receiving and stocking incoming parts, verifying parts against orders and part numbers. Sales and Upselling: Proactively sell additional parts or accessories based on customer needs and vehicle requirements. Communicate promotions, discounts, and special offers to customers to drive sales and revenue. Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare parts for delivery or customer pick-up, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Assist in coordinating the delivery of parts to customers, including arranging shipping and ensuring accurate delivery documentation. Record Keeping & Documentation: Keep accurate records of all transactions, including parts orders, sales, and returns. Maintain up-to-date customer and parts databases. Process returns and exchanges of parts as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., service, sales) to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to resolve any issues related to parts availability, delivery, or quality. Work Environment: Fast-paced, high-energy environment. Warehouse and retail setting, with occasional exposure to loud machinery and vehicles. Full-time position with the potential for evening and weekend shifts depending on business hours. Additional certifications or training related to automotive parts and service (e.g., ASE Certification) is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in a warehouse or retail environment.
