Long Haul Truck Driver

Duties Safely operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems. Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and freight manifests. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly. Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime during trips. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy trucks (CDL preferred). Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safe cargo securement practices. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is a plus. Knowledge of automotive repair basics to address minor mechanical issues on the road. Ability to navigate using GPS systems or maps efficiently across different regions. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial transportation and heavy equipment operation.
