Duties Safely operate heavy-duty trucks for long-distance freight transportation, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Manage documentation related to shipments, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep your vehicle in optimal condition during trips. Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure working environment at all times. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy equipment for loading and unloading freight. Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations. Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently. Excellent organizational skills for managing routes, schedules, and documentation efficiently. Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, clients, and team members. Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for lifting, loading, unloading, and long hours on the road.
