As a key player in our logistics network, you will operate specialized tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, and tanker units, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise will keep our supply chain moving smoothly, connecting communities and supporting businesses nationwide. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers across long-distance routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Manage the loading and unloading process of freight, including freight that involves hazardous materials or dangerous goods, following all hazardous materials regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, plan stops, and ensure timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions. Transport various types of cargo such as refrigerated goods, freight requiring manual handling, or specialized loads like tanker or flatbed shipments. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip. Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting during transit, following logistics cargo handling best practices. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policies. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on long-haul or route driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and manual handling techniques for freight safety. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker vehicles, or other specialized loads preferred. Experience operating trucks with manual transmissions and navigating complex routes using GPS navigation systems. Strong understanding of DOT regulations regarding driver hours of service, load securement, and safety protocols for hazardous materials.
