Logistics Operations Associate

Summary: The Operations Associate will perform the day-to-day operations for our transportation and logistics division located in Miami, FL. Ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for contract administration and logistics, adhering to operational policies, safety procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners. Ensures compliance with regulations and industry standards both within CONUS & OCONUS, while also identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance productivity. Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions: Execute all aspects of the transportation and logistics operations, including execution of plans, schedules, and coordination to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods and services Perform freight flow processes and maintain stock areas and inventory Review shipping documentation to ensure compliance with company standards, accuracy, and federal regulations Coordinate with carriers or brokers to find the most cost-effective rates for both national and international freight (Air / Ocean) shipments Execute operational policies, procedures to improve efficiency, quality, and safety adhering to all appropriate US regulations Execute deliverables for customer shipments, process receipts in financial and supply chain systems, ensure timely shipment of cargo, maintain material due-in/on hand information, report discrepancies, prepare detailed shipment manifests Support data collection for quotes (RFQs / Proforma Invoices) Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Strong attention to detail and work ethic skills, with the ability to self-motivate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices Proficiency in using transportation management software, such as TMS or WMS Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software Ability to travel for training, business development and other opportunities Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years of experience in carrier, transportation and logistics operations Must have a good understanding of Air/Ocean Import & Exports and versed in the Central / South America Import/Export market Fluency in English (oral and written) Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) Preferred Qualifications: Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field Experience in international transportation and logistics operations Working knowledge of U.S. export regulations (e.g. DDTC, EAR & ITAR) Transportation Industry regulations knowledge (e.g. TSA, IATA, OSHA, DOT, FMC) DGR experience / able to obtain Haz-Mat Certification Holds a Security Threat Assessment (STA) Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies Pay and Benefits At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
