Logistics Coordinator – Trucking & Intermodal Operations Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Work Location: In person Job Description We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our transportation operations team. The successful candidate will coordinate daily trucking dispatch, intermodal container movements, and domestic and cross-border freight shipments throughout Canada and the United States. We are looking for a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and hands-on experience in the trucking and transportation industry. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily truck dispatch operations, including scheduling drivers, pickups, and deliveries. Manage intermodal container movements between rail terminals, ports, customer facilities, and distribution centres. Coordinate domestic and cross-border shipments throughout Canada and the United States. Monitor shipment progress and ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, rail terminals, carriers, and vendors. Coordinate refrigerated (reefer) and dry freight shipments. Schedule container pickups, deliveries, and empty container returns. Monitor container availability, appointment schedules, and equipment requirements. Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, proof of delivery, and customs-related paperwork. Identify and resolve transportation delays, scheduling conflicts, and operational issues. Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems. Provide customers with timely shipment updates and exceptional customer service. Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry (required). Previous experience in truck dispatching and/or intermodal container operations. Understanding of rail intermodal operations, container drayage, and trucking logistics. Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. cross-border freight transportation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced transportation environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and transportation management software. Knowledge of reefer operations, rail terminals, and container equipment is an asset.
