We're looking for a resourceful, detail-oriented Logistics Associate to join our full-time team in Fort Lee, NJ. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll manage our inbound imports and nationwide shipments. You'll oversee international shipments from overseas suppliers to our dock, partnering with customs brokers and freight forwarders to clear goods quickly and in compliance. You'll also coordinate a high volume of domestic deliveries to customers and job sites nationwide. What You'll Do · Imports & Customs Clearance o Manage inbound international shipments (ocean FCL/LCL and air) from purchase order through delivery to our warehouse. o Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders and customs brokers on booking, pickup and transit. o Prepare, review, and verify import documents before arrival: commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, and certificates of origin. o Support customs clearance by confirming HTS classifications, country of origin, values and Incoterms, and by filing ISF (10+2) on time. o Track duties, tariffs, and fees; flag tariff changes or exclusions that affect product cost. o Resolve holds, exams, shortages, and damage claims quickly to keep goods moving. o Maintain import records in line with CBP recordkeeping requirements. · Nationwide Shipping & Deliveries o Schedule and coordinate a high volume of outbound LTL, FTL, parcel, and expedited shipments to customers and job sites nationwide. o Get carrier quotes, select the best option for cost and delivery date, and book shipments. o Arrange special handling for heavy or oversized electrical equipment such as cable reels, switchgear, and transformers, including liftgate, flatbed, and job-site delivery requirements. o Track every open shipment and proactively update customers and sales on ETAs, delays, and exceptions. o Audit freight invoices against quotes and resolve billing discrepancies. · Order Processing o Enter and process customer orders accurately, confirming part numbers, quantities, pricing, ship dates, and delivery requirements. o Place purchase orders with vendors and overseas suppliers, and confirm pricing, quantities, and ship dates against order acknowledgments. o Follow orders from entry through delivery, and work with sales and purchasing to resolve backorders, changes and discrepancies quickly. · Coordination & Communication o Act as the main point of contact between purchasing, sales, the warehouse, carriers, and brokers on shipment status. o Communicate clearly and promptly by phone and email, especially when plans change. o Find creative alternatives when shipments are delayed, such as rerouting, splitting orders, or sourcing expedited options. · Organization & Reporting o Keep shipment tracking logs, ERP records, and shared files accurate and up to date. o Report on transit times, landed costs, carrier performance, and freight spend. o Recommend process improvements that reduce costs, errors, or delays.
