Logistics Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and organized Logistics Assistant to support daily transportation and logistics activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating tasks, working with schedules and records, and helping ensure shipments and deliveries move smoothly. The Logistics Assistant will assist with shipment coordination, documentation, communication with drivers and team members, and routine administrative tasks. This is an entry-level opportunity, and previous logistics or transportation experience is not required. Training will be provided. Responsibilities Assist with coordinating daily transportation and delivery activities Help schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipment movements Maintain accurate shipment and logistics records Enter and update information in company systems Prepare and organize shipping and transportation documents Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal team members Monitor shipment status and provide updates when needed Help track deliveries and identify potential delays Review basic shipping information for accuracy Assist with resolving routine scheduling or delivery issues Organize invoices, receipts, and other logistics-related paperwork Maintain electronic and physical records Assist with dispatch and administrative tasks as needed Help ensure transportation procedures are followed Support the logistics team during busy periods Perform other operational and administrative duties as assigned Requirements Previous logistics or trucking experience is not required High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required Strong organizational and time-management skills Good attention to detail Basic computer and data-entry skills Clear written and verbal communication Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities Ability to follow instructions and established procedures Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn transportation and logistics processes About the Position The Logistics Assistant helps keep day-to-day transportation operations organized and on schedule. This position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in shipment coordination, dispatch support, transportation documentation, scheduling, and general logistics operations.
