Seeking Class A Truck Driver with 6 month verifiable tractor trailer experience to haul Steel coils inside dry van trailers. This position does require driver to nail wood to trailer floor to secure coils. Monday-Friday 1:30pm to 2:30am Home daily. Pay per hour and cpm pay package $0.52 cpm plus $23.00 per hour overtime after 40 hours. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on local delivery routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes and meet schedule requirements. Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials when qualified. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for hazardous materials compliance if applicable. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation. Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers preferred. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance on over-the-road (OTR) routes within local areas.
