Local Live Haul CDL A Driver Flatbed Chicken Transport

We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a local live-haul operation transporting live chickens from farms to the facility in Selbyville, DE. Drivers average about 3 inbound loads per day and operate within a 300 mile radius of Selbyville. This is a hands on live haul position. Drivers must be comfortable securing chicken cages on a flatbed trailer and working on farms with uneven ground, grades, bumps, and ditches. Pay and earnings $0.50 - $0.52 per mile Salary Average: $1350 - $1450 $46 - $47 per live stop $15 per hour detention pay after 2 hours $20 per hour safety training pay $250 per day holiday pay Drivers have achieved annualized earnings of about $75,000 Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days 401(k) with company match Paid time off Life insurance options Mental health and disability benefits Schedule and home time PM shift Home daily Local routes within a 300 mile radius of Selbyville, DE Approximately 3 inbound loads per day Automatic daycabs cannot be taken home during time off What you’ll do Pick up live chickens from chicken farms Transport loads to the facility in Selbyville, DE Strap and secure chicken cages onto the flatbed trailer at farm pickup locations Use a cheater bar to properly secure loads Ensure every load is properly secured before transport Navigate farm driveways and challenging farm conditions, including grades, bumps, and ditches Complete pre-trip inspections and follow all animal handling, DOT, and company safety procedures Equipment Automatic daycab Flatbed trailer Company assigned equipment Trucks remain at the account facility during time off What we need Valid Class A CDL Live-haul experience preferred, but not required Comfortable with physical work, including strapping and securing loads Able to work on farms with uneven terrain, grades, bumps, and ditches Willing to work a PM schedule Safe driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
