Overview Join our dynamic team as a Local Flatbed Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within your local area. Your skills in truck driving, cargo handling, and route navigation will be instrumental in keeping our operations running smoothly and on schedule. Seeking Class A Truck Driver with 6 months or more flatbed experience to vender parts to facilities. The role requires drivers chain and strap down loads. No driver unloads or Direct freight handling. $28.00 per hour Average $1400-1750 per week Mostly curtain side flatbeds, some straight flatbeds (summer only), a few dry van Responsibilities Safely operate flatbed trucks equipped with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transport. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes within local areas, adhering to route schedules and delivery windows. Transport various types of freight, including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialty loads such as tanker or automobile transportation when required. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer, checking for mechanical issues, load security, and safety compliance. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with logistics cargo handling procedures. Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during trips. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on flatbed or tractor-trailer operations. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, tankers, or hazardous materials regulations is a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle freight manually, including loading and unloading cargo safely and efficiently. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and hazardous materials regulations related to commercial trucking. Experience with route driving in local areas using GPS navigation systems for efficient deliveries. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; endorsements for Hazmat or tanker loads are advantageous.
